On what surface can I place my deck?
It is possible to build your deck on any solid support that guarantees the durability of the deck structure, under the conditions of use prescribed by the suppliers of this. This includes: Flat roofs with or without waterproofing, wood or metal frame structure. The ideal is to lay the terrace on a concrete slab with a sufficient slope for the drainage of the water and then on blocks. Unfortunately it is not always possible to have a concrete slab due to budget, available space or location of the floor. You can make concrete stringers or concrete blocks distributed in such a way as to comply with the installation instructions for our Softline or Technideck decks. For any other support: Stabilized, gravel slabs etc., please contact your local distributor that you can find here.
Can I use foundation screws to build my deck without creating a concrete slab?
Yes, no problem. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for installation.
What is the ideal distance for load-bearing beams?
It all depends on the type of wood and the sections of the beams. Please refer to your dealer for more information.
What is the ideal distance for concrete blocks?

Is it necessary to have a deck edge set against the walls?
It is recommended to leave a gap between the boards and the walls. The distance usually left is 10mm.
Do I have to pre-drill to screw in the clips?
No, it is not necessary to pre-drill the clips into the joists, unless you are working with joists with a density of 1000kg/m3. If you use the Technideck system on aluminum joists or if you use the Softline clips on generic aluminum joists, you only need to use self-drilling screws for aluminum.
Do I need to fix my studs to the ground?

What are the most common installation errors?

La deuxième erreur est de ne pas enfoncer correctement le clip contre la planche précédente. L’ergo (le spacer) du clip doit absolument toucher la planche précédente.
